Brazos County Libertarian Party

"Given the low level of competence among politicians, every American should become a Libertarian."
-- Charley Reese, Alameda Times-Star (California), June 17, 2003

Forced Annexation

March 18, 2006. Brazos County Libertarian Party County Convention Resolution to support an end to forced annexation.

We, the Libertarian Party of Brazos County call upon all municipalities in Brazos County to fully respect the property rights of all citizens of Brazos County and end the forced annexation of all unincorporated areas, including homes, farms, and businesses and waive all extra-territorial jurisdiction.

We also call on all municipalities in Brazos County to de-annex those areas forcibly annexed to which, in violation of law, city services have not yet been provided. Rural property owners may voluntarily request annexation of their properties, but no citizen should be forced to live in a manner which he does not choose, in this case, from rural to urban.

This resolution was adopted by the Brazos County Libertarian Party at their county convention held on March 13, 2004 in College Station, and renewed on March 18, 2006.
